Samsung and Intel Join Forces to Revolutionize AI PC Displays

Samsung Display and Intel have officially entered into a strategic partnership to develop cutting-edge display technologies optimized for Intel’s processor chips. This collaboration marks a significant step toward next-generation AI-powered personal computing, promising enhanced visual performance and power efficiency.

Samsung Display and Intel Sign Landmark MOU

On Friday, Samsung Display and Intel signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) at Samsung Display Research in Yongin, Gyeonggi. This agreement signals the beginning of a deep technical collaboration between the two industry giants. Attending the event were Samsung Display’s executive vice presidents Lee Jong-hyuk and Lee Ho-joong, alongside Intel’s Hans Chuang, General Manager for the Sales, Marketing, and Communication Group in Asia-Pacific and Japan, and David Feng, General Manager of Client Computing Group’s Client Segments at Intel.

Next-Gen OLED Displays Optimized for Intel Processors

Under this collaboration, Samsung Display aims to integrate Intel’s system-on-chip (SoC) technology into its organic light-emitting diode (OLED) panels designed for high-performance computers. These OLED panels will boast exceptional picture quality, improved power efficiency, and cutting-edge visual technologies, making them ideal for AI-driven PCs.

Lee Jong-hyuk, Samsung Display’s EVP and head of product planning for small and medium-sized displays, highlighted the company’s commitment to innovation, stating, “Through tight collaboration with Intel, which is creating a new future for personal computing, we plan to accelerate next-generation display technology innovation. We also plan to lead growth in the next-generation AI PC market and enhance the users’ laptop experience to another level.”

Intel and Samsung to Drive AI PC Industry Forward

Intel’s David Feng echoed similar sentiments, expressing excitement over the collaboration. He remarked, “This is an exciting time for both Intel and Samsung Display as we collaborate on groundbreaking visual technologies and enhancements optimized for Intel processors. Through our partnership and expertise, Intel and Samsung Display will steer the PC industry toward the next generation of AI PC experiences.”

Global Promotional Efforts and Exhibition Participation

As part of this initiative, Samsung Display and Intel will work together on global promotional exhibitions showcasing their joint innovations. Currently, Samsung Display is participating in the Humans with AI media art exhibition at Kyobo Book Centre Gwanghwamun in central Seoul, running from February 21 to March 31. This event, hosted by Samsung Electronics and Intel, highlights Samsung Display’s OLED and quantum dot OLED panels, further emphasizing the company’s technological prowess.

This partnership between Samsung Display and Intel underscores a transformative shift in AI-driven personal computing, ensuring a superior user experience with ultra-high-definition visuals and power-efficient OLED technology.
